Zion Fellowship is a Christian Church formally established in February, 2002 as the first church plant of Elim Pacific Ministries.

Zion Fellowship is committed to share life, peace, healing and transformation through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to all individuals, without discrimination.

OUR VISION FOR THE ISLANDS

The islands hold an important key of deliverance of nations and freedom of captives. God showed us from Isaiah 42:12 that as the islands of the sea sing forth his praise, release and divine revelation comes to those in bondage. In the economy of God, He chooses the weak things to confound the wisdom of the wise. This vision in not limited to the island of Guam. God is building a network of ministries within the islands that are founded on covenant trust, extreme mercy and restoration. Our mission statement that God has given us for this work is simply, Love’em and Launch’em! This has taken on very practical dimensions in everything that we are doing at Zion and the ministries of Elim Pacific.

We envision that Pacific Islanders will become everything that God has created them to be as they are raised as Spiritual Sons and Daughters. At the very foundation of this is God’s heart for the family. Even with the numerous broken homes and common-law relationships prolific throughout the world, we believe that God’s heart of restoration is founded in his heart to put the Solitary into Families. (Psalm 68) Therefore a family dynamic flows through each and every aspect of our ministry activity. This is an essential foundation stone that we have been building on as we have been establishing Zion Fellowship. We pray everyone will find that Zion is truly a family that is loving and nurturing. . God is our Father our lover. He provides all that we need and restores us completely to wholeness. He desires to prepare us uniquely as the Bride of Christ.

Zion Fellowship is a foundational part of several ministries that make up Elim Pacific Ministries. At the center of every ministry outreach of Elim Pacific is the Church. Zion Fellowship is the first fruit of this ministry. . Rob and Allison Zimmerman are privileged to be the Spiritual Parents of this ministry. Even as the ministry grows and expands, we want to maintain the unique family nature of the ministry.

In order to raise up Spiritual Sons and Daughters, our ministry is fundamentally relational and follows our parenting style. We love, train and confront issues to promote character. We continually lay down our lives for God’s restoration power and Character qualities to be formed in each disciple. Spiritual sonship is the fruit of this intense nurture and discipleship. It is more relational and impartational rather than educational.

THE HISTORY OF ZION FELLOWSHIP

Zion Fellowship began began as an outreach to the children in Astumbo Gardens in Dededo. From this weekly outreach, God established this church as a couple adults soon joined us regularly for prayer and ministry in the Word. As weather became rainy, we rented the conference room at the Imperial Suites Hotel for $80 each week and started regular Sunday Services. We were there for probably 6 months until that hotel was devastated by a typhoon. We were able to rent space at the SDA building in Agana Heights where we met for the next 6-7 months.

We finally registered our ministry name in May of 2002 and received our 501(c)3 tax-exemption status. In August 2003, we rented space in the Manhattan Building. This needed extensive renovation but it became Zion’s home for next 3 years. In 2006, we leased the first floor of the UIU.

SPIRITUAL FOUNDATIONS

There are several important teachings from the Bible that are essentially at the heart upon which everything grows in our lives and ministries. The Bible is God’s love letter to us and fills our lives with the revelation of the full scope of our Covenant with God. Therefore, these principles for us are non-negotiable. We have outlined these important foundations of faith that have become the basis for the people of Zion to walk in unity.

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT OF FAITH

  • We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths.
  • We believe in the unity of the one true and living God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(2 Corinthians 13:14) These three are coequal and coeternal.
  • We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His death and atonement through His shed Blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His present priestly ministry. (2 Timothy 3:16; Romans 3: 25-26)
  • We believe in evangelistic and missionary fervor and endeavor. (Acts 1:8; Mark 16:15-18)
  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential and obtained only by God’s grace through faith. We further believe in the keeping power of God.
    (Hebrews 9:22; Jude 24-25)
  • We believe that sanctification, holiness and the overcoming life is God's design for the Church, which is the Bride of Christ. (Ephesians 5:25-27)
  • We believe that sexual purity is a necessary expression for all of God’s children and requires abstinence from adultery, fornication, incest, homosexuality, or other sexual relationships or practices forbidden in scripture. (Hebrews 13:4; 1 Corinthians 6:18; Leviticus 18:1-30)
  • We believe that marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime and a sacred institution established by God. (Matthew 19:4-6)
  • We believe that since mankind is created in the God’s image, human life is of inestimable worth and significance in all its dimensions, from conception to the grave. (Gen. 1:27; Psalm 139:13-14)
  • We believe that Baptism is for believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and is to be administered by immersion, thus bearing witness to the gospel of Christ's death, burial and resurrection for us, and our own new life in Him. (Matthew. 28:19; Romans 6:4)
  • We believe that Communion, when shared by believers, witnesses to the saving power of the gospel, to Christ's presence in His church, and looks forward to His victorious return. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
  • We believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit as on the day of Pentecost and in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit as evidenced in charismatic gifts and ministries, and in the fruit of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer, to empower the church to preach the Gospel throughout the earth. (Acts 2:4; Acts 10:46; Acts 19:6; Ephesians 4:11; 1 Corinthians 12:8-11; Galatians 5:22-23)
  • We believe that divine healing is obtained on the basis of the Atonement. It is the Father’s will for believers to become whole, healthy and successful in all areas of life. Because of the fall, many may not receive the full benefits of God’s will while here on earth. That fact, though, should never prevent all believers from seeking the full benefits of Christ’s provision in order to better serve others. Spiritual (John 3:3-11; 2 Cor. 5:17-21; Rom. 10:9-10); Mental and Emotional (2 Tim. 1:7; 2:11; Phil 4:7-8; Rom 12:1-2; Isa 26:3); Physical (Isa. 53:4-5; Matt 8:17; 1 Pet 2:24); Financial (Josh 1:8; Mal. 3:10-11 Luke 6:38)
  • We believe in Christ's imminent personal return in power and great glory, and in His present and everlasting dominion. (Acts 1:8; Revelation 1:7; Daniel 7:14)
  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal punishment. (John 5: 28-29; Rev. 20:15)

AND ABOVE ALL, LOVE

While these doctrines are considered essential foundations for agreement at Zion, they are not to promote any sort of elitist attitude. Other churches have their own doctrinal statement, and we respect the diversity in the Body of Christ. In fact, we desire to have as many brothers and sisters in Christ as Father God has sons and daughters! We are called to love the world and share the life that we find in Christ Jesus our one and only Lord and Savior. We are not anti-Catholic or antagonistic to people who do not share or adopt these doctrines. God has called us to love with the same type of intense love as he constantly demonstrates to us. His Agape Love is what makes miracles happen.
Our Values

The Spiritual DNA of Zion Fellowship incorporates three vital aspects: Doctrine, Core Values and Vision. As God is building a vibrant family in His image, these family values are another important aspect to consider as you decide about becoming a member of Zion Fellowship.

We are all on a spiritual journey. Our aim is that Zion would be a place where you can grow in your relationship with God. Secondly that your life would reflect God’s image developing in you more deeply. As this progresses, we want each person to enter into their destiny and calling more fully. This process begins by receiving love and life in Christ. Then it matures as our lives begin to radiate Christ’s anointing those around us. We want Zion to be an ever increasing positive influence in our community. Let’s look at these values in more detail.

  • Zion is a Church Motivated by Love!
For us, the Bible is more than a collection of important teachings. It is God’s loving Word to us, His love letters direct from His heart. As His word becomes ours, our dialogue and love song expands into all our expressions.
Having been kissed by God, we experience His mercy and it changes us. Love makes miracles happen. The love of Christ frees us from everything that could entrap a person. Praise and worship are a primary opportunity to encounter God more fully. As we encounter God we are empowered to live differently. The unique love dynamic that we are cultivating at Zion is a vital part of our spiritual DNA (1John 4:7-8).
We grow in the context of a spiritual family with strong covenant ties of relationship. Zion is NOT a church marked by conformity but rather diversity. As God creates each person unique, God’s life expressions redeem our personality. We see the life of Christ places great dignity and value on each soul. We are not perfect but we shall walk in love with those around us while each encounters Jesus in this journey together. Help us cultivate this agape atmosphere even further and learn to speak Christ’s truth in mercy and grace.
  • Zion is a church with a Message of Restoration!
No matter what level of brokenness and wounding we may have experienced, God is the Lord of Restoration. He makes all things New. Zion is working to maintain an atmosphere where the restoration process can occur completely and progressively. We are dependant on the active work of the Holy Spirit to accomplish everything that He desires and give room for Him to do His work.

We cherish the ministries of the Holy Spirit that operate through His people. Members are being trained to listen to God’s voice and are encouraged to share what God reveals in prayer and prophetic words that may be shared. We value prayers of agreement and even stand together to war for the individuals to be delivered into a place of greater freedom and release from all oppression.

We are to overcome evil wherever we encounter it. Of course, the source of all evil is sin and the Lord shows us clearly His restoration process. This means living out the love of Christ, being continually filled with the Holy Spirit, as well as manifesting the gifts and fruit of the Spirit, and praying with passion and authority. Jesus did not explain away the pain of others-He healed them and set them free if they wanted to change.

  • Zion is a church on a Mission of Mercy!
We have been challenged by God to invade every people group as Holy ambassadors and make disciples. Our immediate focus is that people of the islands would praise God as they find life in Christ. We are here to serve and share life freely. In very practical ways we are working to connect with people in our community to impart life.
We believe that the church can and needs to be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure.
  • Zion is a Church with a Mandate of Releasing Heaven on Earth.
As Christians, the Anointing of Jesus works in every believer not only to live for Jesus but to extend His Kingdom in our earth. We are here to make a difference in practical ways.

We believe accomplishing God’s purposes calls for scripture-based risk-taking, flexibility, and perseverance. We believe that Christ’s transformation of a believer will lead to a generous heart that shares what God has given. We invest in eternity by giving our finances, our prayers, as well as our abilities.

God is raising up Sons and Daughters in His image and he chooses to form their character through a process called discipleship. This is a training process that God establishes within a spiritual church family. The Apostle Paul illustrates this dynamic relationship in many of his letters he wrote to his spiritual sons and daughters. (See 1 Corinthians 4: 14-17)

OUR VISION

We want Zion to be a life-giving church that is fully responsive to extend Christ’s Kingdom of in every aspect of the world around us.

Zion is building a family of covenant believers who are motivated to change our world. In order to grow together into such an influential Kingdom force, we must focus on several principles.

Relationship: God calls us to enter into covenant relationships. Our relationship with God, with our spouse, with fellow believers and with non-believers is to be based on covenant trust, faithfulness, accountability, and love. People want to know if they can trust us. If they can trust us, they can trust our testimony and perhaps our God. As a member of Zion, we want everyone to enter a dynamic relationship with God and become positioned in the Church family. As covenant believers, we mutually invest in each other’s lives.

Realignment: Salvation means we are all being transformed from lives of sin as enemies of God to become Saints. God is restoring our broken foundations to make us strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. This is only possible with Jesus. As we study the Bible, pray and listen to His voice, we can get His Word into our lifestyles. It is His Truth that sets us free. (John 8:32) Most of us don’t even realize if our life is out of alignment with the Word of God. In honest and loving relationships, God works to expose lies that operate in our lives. Small group Bible studies and prayer meetings are a great place for life change to happen. We can be transformed by the renewing of our minds. (Romans 12:1-2)

Reorientation: God's kingdom is an upside down kingdom if we compare it to how things operate in our world. Greatness is marked by servanthood. We gain by giving. We really live by losing our lives in embrace of Jesus. we will seek to live this out in the very structure of the church.

Reality: How things really are is more important than how things look. We value authenticity, honesty, and accountability. We are called to be real, not religious. Sometimes the world sees Christians as strange. But if we become like Jesus, and live in the supernatural, we will become influential and life-giving. By becoming a member of Zion, we essentially are giving each other permission to speak into our lives, that we may become everything that Jesus is creating us to be.
